Boy Named Andrew is the professional name of emerging independent recording artist and producer, Andrew Ebel. He made his solo professional recording debut in 2021 with the downtempo electronic instrumental “Sunshine and Pain”. That track introduced a genre-fluid multi-instrumentalist with an emotional and melodic songwriting style.
Since his debut, the prolific producer has released eight singles, two EPs and a full-length album. A veteran of numerous rock & roll bands, the Florida-native launched his new solo project in the name of creative freedom. With a focus on the song, the producer is shedding the constraints of genre classification.
“Beautiful Disaster (featuring U X)” is the current single and opening track on Boy Named Andrew’s new album Save Me From Myself, released worldwide via all major streaming services on January 1, 2023. As the track opens, ambient synths and a reverb-soaked piano ride a downtempo lo-fi beat. The singer steps to the mic with dreamy and melancholy meditation on depression, identity and the confusion of love. A mix of analog and electronic instruments, lush vocal harmonies, and a touch of jazz create an ethereal vibe.
