The Kowal Project is the musical brainchild of Danish singer/songwriter Mia Kowal. A lifelong musician, throughout her teens and twenties she studied vocal control & guitar, and performed regularly in choirs all around her hometown. Eventually however, life took the singer on a different path and she put her musical dreams on hold.
That all changed when Mia had the opportunity to attend The Songwriting Academy’s Platinum Program. The dream was ignited anew. Through the program she refined her songwriting chops and overcame the anxiety that had been holding her creativity at bay. The Kowal Project was born.
“The Deeper You Bruise” is the debut single from The Kowal Project, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 10, 2023. As the track opens, minor-key ambient synths float above an acoustic duo of mandolin and guitar. The ensemble rides a percussive, downtempo organic groove. A male vocalist enters the melancholy mix to deliver a soulful and emotionally powerful dark alt-pop torch song.
