Alta Avenue’s Live Alt-Pop Vibe

alta avenue

Alta Avenue is an emerging independent band from Santa Monica, California. The group made their professional recording debut in 2018 with the single “Black and Blue”. That track introduced a talented SoCal alt-pop ensemble with a sound built on classic synthwave vibes, modern rock energy, and timeless pop sensibilities.

The group is the brainchild of singer, songwriter and guitarist David Bilson. By day he travels the world as a commercial jet pilot. He first started writing songs fifteen years ago when his first child was born. The newborn baby grounded the pilot, so he had to find a way to spend the unfamiliar downtime. He picked up the guitar, took some lessons, and the rest is history.

Since their debut, Alta Avenue have released sixteen singles. The prolific rockers have connected with fans around the world on tracks like 2019’s “Rare Thing” and last year’s release, “See You Tonight”. In July of 2022 the band landed a spot on the NOS Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, sharing the stage with iconic bands like Metallica and Imagine Dragons.

The Alta Avenue sound is an infectious mix of pop hooks, live instrumentation, classic synths and David Bilson’s insightful and often personal lyrics. On tracks like “Fast Food Nation” and “As You Walk Away”, the singer creates universally relatable narratives about life, love and family, set to radio-ready alternative pop/rock grooves. Alta Avenue’s mission is to connect with listeners at a visceral level.
