Pure Persuasion Project is a collaborative international supergroup that made its professional recording debut in 2020 with an eponymous four-song EP. That record introduced the creative brainchild of producer, composer, and arranger G. Nii Amon Ashie. Born of tragedy, the project now helps others heal through the good vibes of uplifting music.
With each release, Pure Persuasion Project recruits a crack roster of studio and live musicians. They capture the group’s inspiring message with classic pop hooks, r&b soul, and mellow island grooves. For their latest release, they take a fresh look at a Sam Cooke classic.
“Wonderful World (don’t know much)” is the brand new single from Pure Persuasion Project, released worldwide via all major streaming services on April 5, 2023. Drummer Kevin Koch opens the track on a laid-back downtempo funk groove. Soon, bass (Jim Reeves), percussion (Roy Gonzales), saxophone (John Rekevics), keys (Aya Yamaguchi), organ (Nii Amon), and guitar (Hank Easton), all join the mix and lay down some smooth Caribbean vibes. Featured vocalist Jamon steps to the mic and delivers a smooth and soulful performance as he joins the band in their joyful take on an iconic song.
