Sir Rickey is the professional name of veteran hip-hop recording artist Rickey Evans. Originally from Macon, Georgia, the prolific musician started writing rhymes when he was just ten years old. He and his family moved around a lot throughout his childhood. At each new locale, the young emcee found solace in his music and kept writing.
After high school Sir Rickey enrolled in the military and saw the world. Throughout all of his travels he continued to write, record and perform his own original music. He landed some high-profile gigs along the way and even once appeared on BET’s uber-popular countdown music video show 106 & Park.
“The Deal” is the brand new single from Sir Rickey, released worldwide via all major streaming services on April 2, 2023. Melodic minor-key piano arpeggios open the track. The rapper steps to the mic and the beat drops on a lo-fi trap groove. With a healthy dose of humor, Rickey raps and sings a laid-back slow jam about a turbulent but passionate love affair.
