Duke X Savy is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2019 with the single “TFYT”. That track introduced a skilled singer, songwriter and emcee with a verbose lyrical flow, emotional lyrics, and a taste for downtempo 808 grooves.
Based in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, Duke X Savy first started writing songs, poems, and stories to entertain his friends in school. After nearly fifteen years of radio silence he took the leap and headed to the studio. The rapper cites hip-hop icons like Lil Wayne , Jay Cole, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, DJ Khaled and 50 cent as his inspiration.
“Cause/Effect” is the brand new sophomore single from Duke X Savy, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 2, 2023. As the track opens, minor-key ambient synths and piano chords set a melancholy scene. Soon the beat drops on a slow and low trap groove. A subterranean bass rumbles the floor and Duke steps to the mic. He raps and sings an emotional and wistful open letter apology to his lover.
