Golden Gate 25 is the new creative vehicle of multi-instrumentalist musician and producer Matthias Nauerz. A veteran of numerous studio, stage and multimedia projects, the multifaceted Nauerz is an accomplished composer with an extensive catalog of music produced for various television and film productions. The new project is a natural evolution in sound from his 2019 release Nauerz & Hurlock.
In collaboration with popular 26-year-old German indie-pop singer-songwriter Anna Wydra, and a talented international team of songwriters and studio musicians, Golden Gate 25 dropped their debut EP Hide & Seek in April. The record is a six-song melancholy pop meditation on identity, impermanence, and the fragility of love.
“Vipers” is the opening track and current single from Hide & Seek, released worldwide via all major streaming services on April 19, 2023. As the track opens, a dreamy organic mix of acoustic and electric guitars, live bass and drums, and analog ambient synths ride a mellow downtempo groove. On the mic, Anna delivers a soulful and introspective meditation on love and isolation. Australian songwriter Jamie Smalls penned the melancholy torch song.
