Naval Vikas’ New Rock From Hyderabad

Naval Vikas is an up and coming singer and guitarist from Hyderabad, India. By day he works in IT. But when he’s not in front of a computer keyboard, you’ll most often find the talented young musician with a guitar on his shoulder.

A lifelong music lover, he has taken a more active interest in the craft in recent years. In addition to performing in a local rock cover band, Naval Vikas regularly posts his solo performances of modern rock classics via his YouTube channel. You can see his recently published cover of Alice in Chains’ “Nutshell” below.

Where are you from?

I am based out of Hyderabad, India

How long have you been making music? 

I was a music enthusiast from school, but took up guitar in college. I am deeply influenced by rock, grunge, alternative and thrash/metalcore genres

Are you currently working on any recording projects?

Currently in a cover band, but plan to compose soon 🙂

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I first had rock exposure through Linkin park meteora album and then gradually moving to classic rock, grunge and then exploring metal genres. Avenged sevenfold is my biggest influence

What is your greatest non-musical influence? 

My greatest non musical influence is my dad.

Have you released any music previously, outside of your YouTube channel?

No, but hope soon

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

Am into an IT day job, but my dream life would be on the roads touring as a musician. That’s my childhood dream.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

If anyone likes my stuff and wants to collab, I would love to form a band and make music 🙂
