Blacklight is the musical professional persona of Omaha, Nebraska-based EDM artist and producer, Carl Davis. Over the last decade the veteran DJ has dropped dozens of genre-defying club bangers and has connected with hundreds of thousands of fans around the world. His process is guided by a mindset and philosophy he calls ‘PLUR’ (Peace Love Unity & Respect).
Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the prolific producer from popular tracks like last year’s “Bring Me That Feeling” and the single “Beautiful People”, released in March. An avid dancer, Davis creates only good vibes designed to get people moving. All of Blacklight’s positive vibes are delivered to the world via his own Plurred Vision Records.
“Welcome to the Party” is the brand new single from Blacklight, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 19, 2023. Old-school hip-hop samples and anthemic analog synths introduce the track before the beat drops on a driving tech house groove. The party hits the dance floor and doesn’t stop. A female vocal sample provides the hook while organic and electronic percussion paint the edges of the mix.
