GaRee All Drops New Live Video

GaRee All

GaRee All is a poet, a philosopher, educator, and artist. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the singer-songwriter from his singles “Mother Tough” and “Defund Speed Traps“. His sound pairs witty beat-poetry observations on life in the modern world with lo-fi alt-folk, pop, and hip-hop tunes.

Now living in Florida, GaRee All has worn a lot of hats in his day. He was a high school dropout who turned his life around, went back to school and earned a PhD. He then became a university professor before eventually transitioning to the corporate world to work and ultimately retire as an IT manager.

“Have Respect” is a new live recording from GaRee All, available worldwide via his YouTube channel. The performance was recorded live on Valentine’s Day night at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach, Florida. In the clip we see the bearded singer on stage with his ukulele and a big straw hat. He addresses the audience and then offers a free-form treatise on the proper way to treat the fairer sex.

"Have Respect" by GaRee All

Hey, buddy, just remember as you ogle
That good-looking gal standing not far from us,
Yeah, the one with the cute curl,
She’s definitely a pearl that you’re hoping to take for a whirl.
Just remember: she once was somebody’s precious little baby girl.

So have respect, ditch the lech and avoid another romantic wreck.

Hey, buddy, now I see you are ogling another good-looking girl
That you would like to take for a whirl,

Your gawk is awk — ward, but more important:
Just remember: she may already be, or likely someday will be,
Someone’s mama, so include respect in your view panorama,
Ditch the drama and have respect, ditch the lech
and avoid another romantic wreck.

Yes, buddy, this is the way it is:
All the women you see, all the girls and gals,
Were once someone’s precious little baby girl,
Whether the child of an American bum or an English Earl.

So have respect, ditch the lech and avoid another romantic wreck.

Yes, buddy, this is the way it is:
All the women you see, all the girls and gals,
Are now or someday may well be, someone’s mommie.

So have respect, ditch the lech and avoid another romantic wreck.

Women are not toys for boys — or men,
Nor playthings like Barbie and Ken,
But rather our mom, daughter, sister or friend.

So have respect, ditch the lech and avoid another romantic wreck.
