Hal Savar – 8 Questions & The New Single “Melt Away”

hal savar

Hal Savar is a veteran singer, songwriter and guitarist who has spent the better part of the last two decades working in the Entertainment Capital of the World. A native of Philadelphia, at twenty-two years-old the raspy-voiced crooner moved across the country to pursue his musical dreams. It worked, and ever since then Hal has had a successful career entertaining live music fans, 4-5 nights per week on the famed stages of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Last year, Hal Savar returned to the recording studio to release his first original music in years. A string of successful singles have followed like the indie-pop reggae groove “Violet’s Song” and the inspirational “Heaven”, both dropped earlier this year. His latest is a beach party tailgate anthem just in time for summer.

“Melt Away” is the brand new single from Hal Savar, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 9, 2023. Muted guitar arpeggios and the strum of an acoustic open the track with a bit of Latin indie-pop funk. On the mic the singer offers a seize-the-day end of the world party proposition. Soon the beat drops on an infectious four-on-the-floor fist-pumping midtempo dance groove.

8 Questions with Hal Savar

Where are you from?

I grew up all over but I’ve been in Vegas for the past 21 years!

How long have you been making music?

I started writing songs when I was in highschool. So it’s been over 20 years!

Who are the musicians involved in your project?

It’s just me and my producer Curt Martin on this one.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

That’s a tough question for me. I’m influenced musically by so many different artists. For Melt Away, i would say the song was strongly influenced by newer artists like Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendez as well as classic artists like Bob Seager, John Mellencamp, Stevie Ray Vaugn and even Michael Jackson.

What is your greatest non-musical influence?

Las Vegas as a city is in my DNA as an artist!

What inspired you to create this project?

I had a friend challenge me to write a song she could dance to with her friends at my shows.

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

I’m going to continue to release a new single every 6 weeks for the next couple years while I try to build my fans. I want to continue to write , record and perform my music to as many people as possible.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I’ve spent a long time fighting and hustling to play music for a living but I would hide away my own music for fear of being rejected. But after the pandemic, I realized I want to reach the most people I can to bring some joy into their lives. And I also want to show my kids that you can accomplish your dreams if you really love it and work hard at it. I want to break through barriers and inspire other artists. I know I’m an underdog and that’s ok because I’m working hard to make sure my music and talent are undeniable!
