Skoot.HOE is an emerging independent hip-hop artist based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The multifaceted artist first made a name for himself locally, dropping a series of popular mixtapes on his hometown since 2016. He made his international recording debut in 2022 with the single “So Anxious”.
Known for his unique “Skoot Skoot” vocal style, the rapper pairs a distinctive nasal vocal style with an infectious melodic flow. Since his debut, the prolific producer has released five singles. Recently, he dropped the brand new EP, Stargazer.
“Move to the Stars” is the opening track and current single from the Stargazer EP, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 24, 2023. On the track, cinematic piano, synths, and strings ride a hypnotic trap beat. On the mic, Skoot.HOE and guest rapper Yolo RU trade verses, taking this trippy freestyle from the street to the stars.
The upbeat party anthem “Geeked Up” follows. On the track, the emcee pairs clever wordplay with a funky glitch-inspired trap groove. “Razor Gang” closes the record with an ominous minor-key vibe and dark drill rap energy.

8 Questions with Skoot.HOE
Where are you from?
I’m originally from CT, but I moved to Fayetteville, NC due to my mom being in the Military. This is home now.
How long have you been making music?
I have been making music since 2016. I decided to make music because I needed a new outlet to express myself. I was a college athlete at one point. Once sports were taken away, I decided to focus my energy on being expressive.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
So on this project I decided to reach out to Yolo RU. He’s an artist that’s been tearing it up lately. Doing huge numbers. Working with him was a no-brainer. Yolo has been working with other bigger artists, so I decided to hit him up. The rest is history.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences come from a wide range of different artists in different areas. I just look at music as a whole as an influence. I take a little aspect of everything from Lil Wayne to Coldplay to Miles Davis, you know? I have a different ear for music.
What is your greatest non-musical influence?
My parents have always been hard workers. My mom constantly reminds me to keep striving for the best in my own life. I just look at everything that she has done to this point and I take inspiration from that. I try to apply that eagerness to set goals. The goal setting ideology allows me to put that towards my career in this music game.
What inspired you to create this project?
Honestly, this song is just a vibe like I really didn’t have no real plans to figure out what I wanted to do song wise with the other artist on this track but this song is honestly just a vibe like this is literally just a feeling you know
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
So my plans in the future always continue to drop projects continuously just getting my songs heard by fans and just continuously just grow in the fan base and you know had the opportunity to have paid gigs. I am starting to leave a real legacy and mark in this music industry so I’m continuing to turn up and attract people to the vibe.
