The Sonic Redemption is a garage rock power trio making their debut in 2023. The group calls Belgium home, but their sound harkens back to mid-70s New York City. It was a time when punk and proto-punk legends like The Ramones, The New York Dolls, and The Stooges reinvented rock & roll on the stage of Manhattan’s legendary CBGB.
The group is the brainchild of Dominique De Vos, who first made a name for himself as the guitarist of popular Belgian band Southern Voodoo. In The Sonic Redemption Dominique D. handles bass & vocals. He is joined by Jelle D. on guitar and Bram D. on the drums. They make timeless no-frills rock & roll, with amps cranked to 11.
“Cities Of The Black Sun” is the debut single from The Sonic Redemption, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 10, 2023. The track is an advance single from their forthcoming debut EP. The band wastes no time kicking things off with this up-tempo, in-your face rocker. The rhythm section comes at us like a speeding train while Jelle D. injects the high-octane barn-burner with a Chuck Berry meets The Replacements rhythmic guitar assault. On the mic, Dominique D. offers his raspy-voiced apocalyptic vision.
