YN$ is the professional name of emerging independent recording artist and multi-instrumentalist producer Yannis Hajek. He made his solo recording debut last year with the EP Catalyzed. That record introduced a multi-talented German musician with a genre-hopping style. Although he only recently began releasing material commercially as YN$, Yannis has been making music since he was a toddler.
After starting on the drums at age four, he eventually taught himself guitar, bass, and keys. By the age of 16 he was selling beats online. Since his debut, the prolific producer has released a half dozen singles and two EPs. His sound is inspired by modern trap and electronic music as well as a broad range of classic rock, pop, and hip-hop.
“LXST” is the brand new single from YN$, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 5, 2023. Ambient synths and piano chords open the track and the beat lands on a chill trap groove. Downsampled hip-hop vocals echo in the distance as the song takes on a chill phonk vibe.
