Maria Rago is an award-winning pianist and composer who embarked on her musical journey a bit later than most. Now an accomplished talent, she was twenty-four years old when she first sat down at the piano. Despite her late start, Rago has made a name for herself in the international classical music community.
Originally from Sicily and now living in the United States, Maria Rago graduated from Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali V. Bellini di Caltanissetta (Italy), where she studied with Lea Cumbo and Eliodoro Sollima. She then studied composition at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse in Lyon, France with Philippe Schoeller. Inspired by the works of masters from mediums, she cites the influence of everyone from musical icons like J.S. Bach and Frank Zappa, to the great painters like Caravaggio and Picasso. Her musical has appeared in film and has been performed on stages from Vegas to Paris.
“Lady M – Day of a Hundred Candles” is a brand new composition and music video from Maria Rago, released worldwide via YouTube.
