Bobby Part Time – To Whom It May Concern

bobby part time

Bobby Part Time is the professional name of emerging independent hip-hop artist, Robert Joseph Pealer. He made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the five-song EP Clockin’ In. That record introduced a skilled emcee and songwriter from Philadelphia with a dynamic lyrical flow and a taste for hard, trap-infused hip-hop grooves.

He got his start as a teenager, performing as one half of the group 2WhiteBoys with his cousin Stephen Viola, with whom he still collaborates. Since his solo debut, Bobby Part Time has connected with hip-hop fans around the world, dropping underground hits like “East & West ” and last year’s “Like Damn”. The Philly rapper cites southern hip-hop icons Lil Wayne and Jack Harlow as major influences on his sound.

To Whom it May Concern is the sophomore EP from Bobby Part Time, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 23, 2023. The six-song collection is a showcase for both the rapper’s impressive mic skills, and his fearless lyrical style. From the hard freestyle and avant-garde beat of “Peter Piper” to “402 Banyon Lane”, a deeply personal tale of childhood trauma, the rapper pulls no punches as he speaks his truth.

Stylistically, the EP is an eclectic mix of modern and old-school hip-hop. Tracks like “Done Witcha” and “Hood Famous” give the record a shot of soul with classic r&b samples. The latter is a great ensemble rap featuring Lydia Caesar, T-Dubble, and Pat Black. Bobby Part Time then drops the smooth slow jam “Body on My Mind” before diving deep into his own mind for the introspective mental health check “Trying Not To”.
