Wágner’s Rockin’ Return After 30-Year Break

Wágner

Wágner is the professional name of a veteran independent singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist producer Wágner dos Santos. A native of New York City, his musical journey began when he was just seven years old and enrolled as a student of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. By 15 he had released his debut single, and two years later he had a solo EP.

Best known as the frontman of the popular alternative rock band, Nerve, Wágner worked throughout late 80’s and early 90’s with the band and as a solo artist, courting major label attention and sharing the stage with superstars like Henry Rollins, Aimee Mann, and many more. His career eventually veered deeper into the business side of the biz and he put his own music on the backburner. Now based in Orlando, Florida, the muli-talented artist has teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Mirapalheta to make his return to the international music scene with a brand new album of classic alt-rock cover songs.

“Whatever” is the brand new single from Wágner, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 30, 2023. The song was originally a hit for J Records band Splender in 1999. Wágner cranks the amps to 11 for his faithful but modernized take on the song. He and Mirapalheta layer their high-octane version of the track with a wall of power chords, lush melodic moments, and a soulful & powerful lead vocal.
