Vxspr is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer. He made his solo professional recording debut in 2022 with the single “CRASHMYCAR”. That track introduced a cutting edge and genre-defying young Rocky Mountain recording artist.
In the year since his debut, the prolific producer from Riverton, Wyoming has released two singles, and now his first full-length album. The experimental Vxspr mixes elements of hip-hop, rock, glitch-pop, and emo-trap into something uniquely his own. He cites other groundbreaking artists like Night Lovell and brakence as inspiration.
internet saved me is the debut album from Vxspr, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 6, 2023. The eleven-song collection takes us deep into the sound that the artist first introduced last June. From the indie guitar and hyperpop beat of “tulips” to the minor-key house, trance and ambient vibes of the dark-pop meditation “noose end”, the record is a deeply personal and genre-bending ride.
Throughout the album, Vxspr mixes and matches musical styles to suit the needs of the song. “WATCHIN!” is a cool downtempo rap with strong phonk vibes. “i sent this to my friend in new jersey and he hammyshake” is a hard freestyle with a cool 8-bit and dubstep inspired beat.
The mood on the internet saved me slowly grows darker as the record progresses. “NEVA AGAIN!” adds some drill to the mix, with a pinch West Coast gangsta rap bass for good measure. “saved” and “LISTEN” continue on that vibe, taking the record darker still into a hypnotic noir hip-hop scene.
