Banjii & Mayuri are partners in music, business, and life. The married couple are a folk rock recording duo and owners of the independent record label KAHANI RECORDS. In 2021 they debuted their ongoing Uncommon Love Story by Banjii & Mayuri. The award-winning project is a seven-part music video series filmed in different locations in the USA. Each video features an original song based on one chakra, which are energy centers in the body. The series features scenes from the musical couple’s real life.
Mayuri is an Indian classical dancer, business consultant, and engineer with an MBA from Emory University. Her husband Banjii (aka Jason Kenney) is a veteran singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has numerous recording projects to his name. To date, the duo has released five of seven planned music videos, and six of eight songs from the UnCommon Love Story project.
“Merry-Go-Round” is the latest single from Banjii & Mayuri, released worldwide via all major streaming services on May 8, 2023. An organic ensemble of acoustic guitar, bass, and drums lays down a chilled downtempo Americana groove as a steel guitar adds a taste of Nashville. Mayuri steps to the mic and soon Banjii joins her for a dreamy duet ode to the sun and its guidance in our passage through time.
