Dead Hendrix is an emerging independent rapper who made his solo professional recording debut in 2020 with the single “Hold Up”. That track introduced a genre-bending recording artist who weaves elements of punk and hip-hop into his own unique emo-trap vibe. Now the emcee has teamed up with fellow rising Ottawa hip-hop star Yungcudii for a hard-hitting new collaboration.
Since his debut, the prolific rapper has released eight singles as well as his 2022 five-song EP Dead Summer. He has connected with fans worldwide on popular tracks like “Love Game” and “Toxic”. On his recent TWD tour, the Canadian musician took his show all the way to the States, where he headlined shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“Mustang” is the brand new single from Dead Hendrix and Yuncudii, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 31, 2023. Ambient synths and a haunting vocal sample introduce the track as the beat drops on a dark downtempo trap groove. On the mic the two rappers take turns freestyling about the cars and women over anthemic power chords and a deep 808 bass.
