Michael Eddy is an emerging independent recording artist making his solo professional recording debut in 2023. The multifaceted SoCal teen is a singer, songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning dancer. A talented storyteller, he cites a broad range of iconic musicians as influences, including The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more.
An award-winning dancer, Michael Eddy has already made a name for himself in that world as a national hip-hop champion. He is also a card-carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild. Inspired and encouraged by his close-knit family, the young artist is a passionate supporter of kindness and inclusion.
“Small Towns” is the debut single and video from Michael Eddy, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The song tells the tale of a city boy who falls for a small town girl. An ensemble of bass, drums, guitars and keys lays down a mellow groove. On the mic, Michael sings a dreamy country-pop anthem about young love and a simpler life, personified in the form of a beautiful Kenney Chesney-loving country girl.

8 Questions with Michael Eddy
Where are you from?
I am from Clearwater, Florida, originally, and then I moved to California when I was eight years old. I’ve lived in LA for the last ten years and loved it.
How long have you been making music?
I have been into music for as long as I can remember. During quarantine, I started making songs three years ago and co-wrote my single small town a year ago. Making music is one of my favorite aspects of being a musician.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
The song’s co-writer, Rob Shaver, was a huge aspect of the song. Avli produced the song and mixed it. Lastly, Michael Orland, my mentor and vocal coach, helped with the song’s hook and musical composition.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences are Michael Jackson, who I’ve loved my whole life. And also Elvis Presley because of his amazing voice and immaculate swagger.
What is your greatest non-musical influence?
My most significant nonmusical influence is my grandmother, who taught me many valuable life lessons. She passed away 5 1/2 years ago, but I always want to keep following my dreams because of her and what she instilled in me.
What inspired you to create this project?
My inspiration came from real-life situations and events. I wanted to instill some of those into the song and capture that within my music and performances. My life inspired small towns as I matured into an adult.
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
I plan to write many more songs and perform them at world-famous venues. I also hope my single Small Towns will keep growing and reaching more people. My goal with more songs is to create and release my first album on all platforms. I don’t have any additional songs ready to go live at the moment, but I plan to in the next few months.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
It’s been a fantastic journey so far, creating music and being an inspiration. I am excited for the future and want to be an inspiration for young aspiring musicians.
