Emovibe is the professional name of emerging independent recording artist Madaki Samson Iyimoga. He made his international solo debut last year, then performing as Emoji. He followed April of this year with the EP Three. That record introduced a multi-talented singer, songwriter, student, and model from Lafiya, Nigeria who has faced some significant hurdles on his musical journey.
Although he only recently began releasing his work professionally, Iyimoga has been struggling for five years to record his music. As a student at Jos University, his creative process is routinely hampered by the city’s frequent blackouts, which sometimes last for days. Earlier this year, UK-based label Six Reel Classix discovered the young singer and invested in his obvious talent.
“Tonight” is the latest single from Emovibe, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens on a mellow ambient mood as guest vocalist Millicent steps to the mic. The beat drops on a chill Afrobeats groove as she sings the song’s dreamy chorus. Emovibe then takes his turn and delivers a laid-back melodic verse about a perfect night out.
