Karina Acevedo is an emerging independent singer-songwriter who made her solo debut in 2019 with the single “Alive”. That track introduced a talented young Latina recording artist, actress, and model from New York City. Her sound is a fluid mix of pop, hip-hop, R&B, and Latin vibes.
After graduating from Laguardia High School as a vocal major, Karina attended New York’s prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts. Since her debut, the prolific performer has released sixteen singles and a five-song EP. Her latest is a collaboration with fellow New York artist, Lola Adanna.
Regular readers of The Static Dive know Lola Adanna well. We have followed the multi-talented Brooklyn-native’s numerous musical projects for the last three years. She has worked in multiple genres, from funk to gospel, performing and recording across the United States. Most recently, Lola has worked both as a solo artist and as a member of the popular NYC disco band 79.5.
“Unstoppable” is the brand new single and video from Karina Acevedo and Lola Adanna, available worldwide via all major streaming services. As the track opens, the beat drops on a chilled downtempo reggaeton-infused R&B groove. Deep minor-key ambient synths expand the horizon and ethereal backing vocals and piano arpeggios paint the edges of the mix. On the mic, Karina and Lola trade verses, singing and rapping their soulful self-affirming anthem.
