Zoe Wynns is an emerging independent recording artist who made her solo professional recording debut in 2021 with the single “the outside”. That track introduced a multi-talented young singer, songwriter, and producer from North Carolina with a genre-fluid sound. The eclectic young artist weaves elements of pop, alternative, and even classical, throughout the tapestry of her music.
Since her debut, the prolific composer has already amassed an impressive body of work, including two full-length albums. Still only 20 years-old, Zoe Wynns is currently studying at University of North Carolina’s Chapel Hill campus. Last month she dropped a new single, hot on the heels of her full-length LP Abyssal Blue, released earlier this summer.
“BOTTOMLESS” is the brand new single from Zoe Wynns, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 18, 2023. A solo piano opens the track, playing a haunting two note melody. Zoe steps to the mic and matches that vibe with a hypnotic stream-of-consciousness report from the depths of an anxiety attack. As the tune progresses, a string ensemble adds both beauty and tension. The singer remains quietly simmering as she chants “and I can’t stay here”, before her simmering tension explodes and she pierces the melancholy chamber-pop vibe with a world-class emo scream.
