Anth is the new solo musical project from a multi-talented midwestern creator whose work finds inspiration in all corners of art, science, and philosophy. With extensive experience in the studio and on stage, they are making their solo recording debut in 2023. The multi-instrumentalist composer and producer plays every instrument themself.
When not recording or performing live as a musician, Anth can often be found onstage working their other gig as a stand-up comedian. The multifaceted artist cites a broad list of influences, from the Dalai Lama to Jay-Z. It is a musically sophisticated, genre-fluid sound, rooted in keen pop sensibilities.
“So Close” is the debut single from Anth, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 19, 2023. A full brass ensemble opens the track as the groove lands on a jazzy blues crawl. The singer steps to the mic and offers a softly spoken and soulful pop hook over a complex melodic tapestry of piano, bass, drums, and horns. In the chorus, ethereal vocal harmonies chant the song’s title and mantra. The tune has a timeless, Broadway-inspired pop vibe.
