Evan Croft is an emerging independent recording artist who made his wide-distribution solo recording debut in 2021 with the album Different. That record introduced a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and musician from Toronnto, Canada. He has a soulful and eclectic sound built on elements of pop, R&B, and hip-hop.
Since his debut, the prolific producer has released a string of singles and mixtapes. The Croft Collection is the new eight-song set from Evan Croft, released worldwide by Croft Media Productions on August 25, 2023, via all major streaming services. The compilation is made up of slightly altered versions of songs from his first two mixtapes A Fresh Start (2017), and The Ladies Of My Life (2018). The compilation also features a new song, “Favourite”, an acoustic version of 2021’s “Get To Know Me”, and a new version of last year’s “When You’re Ready”.
From the sexy slow jam chill and lo-fi soul of “Love You Right”, to the infectious rhythmic melodies and syncopated percussion of “Favourite”, Evan Croft sets a smooth and soulful mood on The Croft Collection. Classic 90s R&B vibes (“Call on Me”) meet modern hip-hop grooves (“When You’re Ready”). The singer even conjures some disco energy on the smooth dance floor jam “Have You Seen this Girl?”.
Throughout the record, Even Croft pairs his deep R&B roots with a rich mix of musical genres. A dreamy jazz guitar rides a mellow trap-infused beat on the torch-song “She is”. Even Croft continues that intimate mood on the solo acoustic neo-soul crooner, “Get to Know Me”.
