Joshua McClain is a renowned cellist, composer, and filmmaker. The award-winning multi-disciplinary artist earned international acclaim during the pandemic, thanks to his Morning Cello series of livestreams which were viewed by millions around the world. The popular show became the inspiration for the multi-talented musician’s forthcoming album of the same name.
For more than a decade Joshua McClain has established himself as a leading figure in the Pacific Northwest music scene. In 2013 he even won the title Musician of the Year at the Raw Artist RAWAwards showcase in San Francisco. He has toured the world, released two solo albums, and participated in a number of successful collaborations since dropping his self-titled debut album in 2011.
“Montaña ” is the brand new single from Joshua McClain, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 14, 2023. The piece is the first to be released from his forthcoming album Morning Cello. The genre-defying composer cites a wide range of influences, from Hendrix to Yo-Yo Ma. We can hear this holistic musical vision come to life as multiple tracks of cello build “Montaña ” from a quietly haunting melody to an epic cinematic climax.
