Oceans of Mercury is the professional name of the songwriting and production duo of Tim Nelson and Dom Bartoli. The Pittsburgh natives debuted their collaborative project in 2020 with the album Vodka and Water. That record introduced a genre-fluid sound built on elements of classic and alternative rock.
Together, Nelson and Bartoli share a combined six decades of writing, recording, and performing experience. Tim handles most of the lyrical and melodic duties, while Dom mans the board and lead guitar. Since their debut as Oceans of Mercury, the duo has released a string of eclectic singles, from the aptly titled “Fall (70’s love song for Michelle)” to the kid-friendly “T-Rex Song”.
“Breath” is the brand new single from Oceans of Mercury, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 6, 2023. The track is a melancholy and slightly psychedelic ballad, rolling on a mellow downtempo Americana waltz groove. Guitars, piano, and harmonica create a dreamy wall of sound as the singer delivers a heartfelt, poetic, and dreamily philosophical love song.
