Frank Blueka is a well-rounded independent recording artist who made his solo professional recording debut in 2007 with the album Acoustic Avenue. That record introduced a multifaceted singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a soulful genre-fluid vibe. His sound is an organic and (mostly) acoustic mix of blues riffs, pop hooks, and jazz virtuosity.
A native of the Netherlands, Frank Blueka’s music is influenced by classic rock and pop, as well as the great Celtic traditions of the northern regions of his home country. He writes songs about the highs and lows of everyday life. The multi-talented rocker recently dropped his first full-length album in six years.
Paris Midnight is the brand new album from Frank Blueka, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 25, 2023. The record is an eleven-song examination of love in its many forms. From blues-infused ballads like “Holy Mama” to dark pop meditations like “Gonna Leave”, the singer finds inspiration in life’s daily dramas.
With heartbreak laments like “Maybe Tomorrow” and torch-song piano ballads like “Always Remember Us This Way”, Frank Blueka recalls the great pop/rock singer-songwriters of the 70’s and 80’s. He leans into some sultry Peter Gabriel-style soul on “My Bird”, and offers a beautiful and melancholy take on Sir Elton John’s classic “Your Song”. Whether dropping gritty Delta blues (“Rollin’ Like a Stone”) or introspective alt-pop (“Seven Years”), Frank forms a deep emotional connection to the music, and to the listener.
