Beru’s Ash is a family affair. For more than thirty years, the Rico brothers and their crew have been dropping soul-infused rock and pop grooves on their hometown, Los Angeles, California. The group returned to the international stage in 2021 upon the release of their single “Listen”, after a fourteen-year hiatus.
Since then, the prolific rockers have dropped a steady string of classic rock inspired originals. They have connected with fans around the world on tracks like this summer’s “Enjoy the Surprise”, which currently has over 20K spins on Spotify. Formed by Patrick Rico (guitar/vocals), Ryan Rico (bass/vocals), Tony Rico (drums), John Sanchez (percussion), and Aaron Moreno (keys), this band of brothers cites everyone from hippie icons Grateful Dead to alternative pioneers The Meat Puppets, as inspiration for their sound.
“The Disruptor” is a recent single from Beru’s Ash, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens with a bluesy guitar riff before the beat lands on live funk groove. The band’s swamp-rock vibe recalls the classic pentatonic soul of 60s heroes like Rare Earth and the blues-infused virtuosity of Band of Gypsy’s era Hendrix. On the mic, the singer offers a groovy manifesto of universal love.
