Sommer Saffron is the creative vehicle of California-based recording artist, Leslie Liles. The singer-songwriter debuted the project in 2020 with the full-length album Dream. That record introduced a multifaceted artist with a dreamy experimental sound built on elements of electro-pop, electronica, and indie.
Since her debut, Sommer Saffron has released a string of successful singles. Her music has connected with independent pop fans around the world thanks to popular tracks like “Ebb and Flow” from her debut, and last year’s “In the Stillness”. Earlier this month she released her first new music of the year.
“Strange Brew” is the brand new single from Sommer Saffron, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 21, 2023. On the track, Liles reimagines Cream’s psychedelic rock classic as quirky indie-pop nugget. The song opens on a cool lo-fi retro drum machine groove. Electronic arpeggios, ambient synths, and ethereal backing vocals paint the edges of the mix as the singer offers an airy and dreamy reading of Clapton’s trippy warning about a dangerous beauty.
