HVRAN is a digital entity, designed as a vessel for music. That is how the human being associated with the project explains it. For his own part, the human is referred to only as ‘the shell’, a metalcore guy who loves chill lo-fi beats and melodies.
Inspired by the shell’s own life experiences as a human being on Earth, and the experimental pop of groundbreaking artists like Joji, HVRAM creates a hypnotic genre-fluid vibe. He weaves together elements of R&B, trip-hop, and neo-soul. Both behind the board and in front of the mic, his sound at times recalls the mellower work of pop/soul pioneers like Prince and Pere Gabriel.
“Terrified” is the new single from HVRAN, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens on a melancholy downtempo groove. Ambient synths, choral vocals, and an ethereal guitar paint the edges of the mix as the singer steps to the mic. In a smooth tenor he offers a soulful soliloquy about the irony of the human condition.
