Will Sims’ Introspective & Rocking New LP

will sims

Will Sims is a veteran independent recording artist who made his solo professional debut in 2016 with the album May Never Be Forgotten. That record introduced a multi-talented singer, songwriter, guitarist, and bandleader who has been rocking Baltimore’s red-hot music scene for more than a decade. His sound is a unique mix of melodic rock, alternative, metal and pop, with universal lyrical themes exploring the many nuances of interpersonal relationships.

Since his debut, Will Sims has produced an impressive catalog of work. With a string of popular albums and singles under his belt, the introspective Maryland rocker has connected with fans around the world.  His latest is a hard-rocking eight-track examination of regret, distrust, mental health issues, imposter syndrome, and finding a purpose in life.

You Have a Voice, Use It is the brand new album from Will Sims, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 9, 2023. From the 90’s alt-metal funk of the opener “Lose Control”, to the lush sonic tapestry and heartbreak lyrics of “Where Are You Now?”, the record is a diverse mix of thunderous rock songs and heartwarming ballads.

The band rocks a fabulous Sunset Strip inspired guitar riff on “Move it Or Lose”.  From there, the sound continues to evolve and grow more nuanced. “To Remind You” opens on a psychedelic vibe before landing on a percussive melodic rocker.

The melancholy torch song “I Should Never Have Given Up On You” introduces an acoustic feel to the album. “Fears” adds some serene backing vocal harmonies to that vibe. The musicianship is impeccable throughout, especially on the excellent Incubus-style melodic “What Are You Doing?”. The dark and intense psychological rocker “Lose Each Other to the Truth” continues the prog-rock virtuosity.
