Ōkami is an emerging independent record artist and producer who made his solo debut in 2020 with the album Project Rain. That record introduced a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a sound that blends elements of classic post-punk, punk, and rock with modern electronic instrumentation and production.
Originally from the UK, Ōkami moved to Spain with his family when he was 9 years old. By the age of 12 he was crafting songs in multiple genres, from hip-hop to metal. By 17 he was producing his own records. Since debuting, the prolific producer has released nearly two dozen singles and a full length album.
“Nothing Hurst (Like You)” is the brand new single from Ōkami, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 15, 2023. A distant lo-fi guitar opens the track before the beat lands on a bass guitar-driven downtempo minor-key alt-rock vibe, bringing to mind the dark wave vibes of pioneering bands like The Cure and Joy Division. On the mic, the singer offers a heartbroken meditation as hypnotic electronics paint the edges of the mix.
