Amani is an emerging independent rapper, songwriter, and producer with an eclectic sound. Originally from Queens, New York, as a child he moved with his family to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. Both geographically and culturally a world away from NYC, the young artist embraced his new home and it became part of his music.
He made his solo professional recording debut in 2020 with the single “Hop Out”. Since then, the prolific Amani has released seven singles, and now a brand new EP. He has connected with fans around the world with popular tracks like last year’s “Lonely Freestyle”.
Capital is the new EP from Amani, available worldwide via all major streaming services. Throughout the three-song set he blends elements of old-school and new. With a verbose lyrical flow and experimental productions style he crafts his own distinct sound.
The record opens with the haunting vocal samples and drums of “Wake Up”. Soon the beat drops on a dark lowrider groove and Amani steps to the mic with a no-holds-barred freestyle. “GimmeMyMFGrammy” continues the braggadocio vibes over a chilled soul groove as a gospel choir sings in the distance.
“DesignatedVillain” closes out the set. Amani opens the track with a sample of the viral ‘Dracula Flow’ video rant over a dark experimental low-fi track. On the mic the rapper drops a dark drill story rap.
