The Lord K Born is a veteran hip-hop artist from New York City who got his start in music back in 1987. In 2023 he launched a brand new solo project. Teaming up with legendary hip-hop producer Teddy Riley (Blackstreet), he has dropped two singles with a new EP on the way.
“The Mele Mel/Caz Song” is the latest single from The Lord K Born, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 1, 2023. The track is a response to Grandmaster Melle Mel’s latest single “Kickback”. The hip-hop legend dropped the song earlier this year in response to Eminem’s diss on the Ez Mil hit “Realest”.Â
On his new single, The Lord K Born comes back, with an old-school diss track, backing up Em and representing the Bronx. The track opens with a sample of “Kickback” before the beat drops on a classic boom-bap soul groove. Born steps to the mic, in a cool and confident flow he takes down Mel and other old-school heroes whom he views as unworthy of their status.
