Julian King is an emerging R&B recording artist who made his solo professional debut in 2019 with the single “Seasons”. That track introduced a multifaceted singer, songwriter and pianist. The Philadelphia native’s star has been on a meteoric rise ever since.

He has warmed up for the iconic Mary J. Blige and sang backup vocals for John Legend. An alumnus of NBC’s The Voice, he was a runner-up in Billboard and Samsung’s NXT 2.0, with his grand finale performance video garnering over 1.3 million YouTube views, and was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his “All Boys Aren’t Blue” theme song. As a black, Japanese, and queer man, his music is inspired by his communities.

“Hoodie” is the brand new single from Julian King, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 15, 2024. The track opens on a chilled hip-hop groove as R&B keys paint the periphery. A laid-back funk bass enters the mix as the singer steps to the mic. With his coveted titular hoodie as metaphor, he delivers a soulful relationship post-mortem from an LGBT+ perspective. Later, featured rapper Ashton Mallory drops a similar tale about a woman who did him wrong.
