Sigrid Haanshus’ Dreamy Acoustic Melancholy

Sigrid Haanshus

Sigrid Haanshus burst onto the international scene in 2015, when at 12 years-old she earned a Golden Buzzer and ended up as a finalist on Norway’s Got Talent.  It was then that she released her debut single “The Prayer” with composer Stephen Brandt-Hansen. The song introduced a talented young singer-songwriter from a small central Norwegian village named Soknedal.

Since her debut, the prolific Sigrid Haanshus has released more than 20 singles, as well as the 2017 LP Journey to the Past. She has connected with fans around the world on popular tracks like “How Does a Moment Last Forever” and “Believe”. In 2023 collaborated with the Burmese artist Ah Moon for the single “I Can’t Shut My Brain Down”, with a music video shot in Paris.

“In Open Air” is a recent single from Sigrid Haanshus, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track opens on melodic finger-picked acoustic guitar as ethereal strings expand the soundscape. Sigrid steps to the mic, and in a smooth mezzo-soprano she sings, “I would like to get to know me better”, in this melancholy, dreamy and introspective folk-pop meditation.
