Centric & CJae Drop New R&B/Afrobeats Single With Collaborative LP On The Way

Centric is the professional name of award-winning composer and producer Christopher Louray Mandujan. He made his solo debut in 2017 with the album Stolen Time. Since then, the prolific producer has released four albums and a string of successful singles. Mandujan has also produced tracks for a long list of artists ranging from cutting-edge underground hip-hop to Grammy-winning pop singers.

In addition to his solo and production work, Centric is one-half of the West Coast hip-hop duo Grand Opus. His music has been featured on high-profile network television productions such as MTV, VH1, OWN, NFL, TVONE, and BET. He is currently working on a brand collaboration LP with Greneda-native singer-songwriter and guitarist CJae.

“Do Time” is the first single from Centric and CJae’s forthcoming LP Redlight. The song was released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 7, 2024. A solo guitar opens the track, strumming arpeggios as smooth ambient synths law down a laid-back R&B slow jam vibe. Soon the beat drops on a syncopated downtempo Afrobeats groove as the singer steps to the mic. In a smooth and soulful tenor, he calls out an unfaithful lover for all her bad deeds. The track closes on a nice blues-infused guitar solo.
