Cauzzi’s Introspective New Electronica

Cauzzi is an emerging independent music composer and producer who is making their professional recording debut in 2024. The otherwise anonymous musician from Fairbanks, Alaska has a timeless sound. It is an experimental mix that finds inspiration in electronic music from across the history of the genre, from 70s analog synths vibes to the 90s electronic punk of The Prodigy and cutting-edge modern artists like El Tigr3.

Although a lifelong music aficionado, Cauzzi only recently began composing their own original material. The eclectic creator composes as a healthy escape from the trials and tribulations of the day-to-day. The debut album is a study in the pros and cons of being alone.

A Necessary Distance is the brand new album from Cauzzi, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 7, 2024. The eight-song set is a mostly instrumental journey through the self-discovery and melancholy of prolonged isolation. The album is the product of the musician’s recent  intentional temporary retreat from everyday life.

“It was hard removing the people I love away from me, but it was necessary for my mental health and well being. I made the entire album while I spent time away from everyone and I think the album reflects that with its overall melancholic feel.”

From the percussive ambience of “Begin again (Intro)” to the dreamy excursions of “Swallowtail”,  A Necessary Distance is a deeply personal musical experience. Along the way, Cauzzi incorporates a myriad of musical flavors into the mix. We experience the hypnotic analog synth melodies of “Neon Spiders” and the tech-house psychedelia of tracks like “Far Away”.

“Promise” is a cool experimental analog-synth piece which brings to mind the work of Moog pioneer Mort Garson. Elsewhere, Cauzzi’s sound takes a turn to the post-modern. “Back to Me” has a trippy lo-fi vibe. The versatile producer drops a bit of new wave on “Never Needed You”, and then goes industrial on the dark “Don’t Leave”.
