PER ASPERAX is an independent rock & roll band from Taranto, Italy. The group was officially formed in 2019 by four friends who had known each other and played together for years. They made their international recording debut in 2023 with the single “Turbodiesel”.
They have an eclectic alternative rock sound built on elements of punk, pop, and metal. The band cites a broad spectrum of artists as inspiration, including Fontaines D.C., Idles, Viagra Boys, and Måneskin. They followed their debut with a string of singles leading up to their recently released debut album, which they say is a testament to the courage and strength needed for self-expression and the manifesting of thoughts, even the intrusive ones.
“Incubi” is the current single from PER ASPERAX’s new album NO, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 8, 2024. The track opens with the crunch of a power chord as the beat drops on an uptempo punk rock groove. On the mic Giuga Marino sings in Italian about the horrors of war, as Alessio Iacobino (guitar), Alessio Cirillo (bass), Enrico Grillini (drummer) lay down an urgent indie-rock jam. In the bridge the band drops a bit of classic-rock inspired psychedelia before kicking back to the beat.
