Phylosophy is the professional name of emerging independent hip-hop recording artist, Charles Howard Jr. He made his solo recording debut in 2022 with the album ThatPhilosophicalOne. That record introduced a SF Bay Area rapper with a hard style and a rapid-fire lyrical flow.
Since his debut, the prolific wordsmith has dropped a string of popular release including n EP, two LPs, and a handful of singles. A versatile and eclectic emcee, Phylosophy describe himself as a hybrid rapper with influences from both the West & East Coasts. He fearlessly attacks difficult subjects, from politics to life in the hood.
“Soul Brotha” is the current single from Phylosophy’s brand new On A Hot Summa Day EP, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 12, 2024. The track opens on an acoustic guitar intro before the beat drops on a laid-back boom-bap groove. The rapper steps to the mic and drops a verbose braggadocio lyrical freestyle with a rapid-fire flow, rhyming about his own hip-hop prowess, and warning the haters to stay out of his lane.
