We first heard from Gary Dranow upon the release of his recent single “Concrete Jungle“. That rocker and the subsequent acoustic “Bodywise” introduced regular readers of The Static dive to a diversely talented, veteran guitarist and songwriter. Based in Park City, Utah, Gary launched a brand new solo project in 2023 with the LP Destiny Road.
Since his debut, Gary Dranow has worked with an international team of musicians, led by Australian musician and producer Chris Zoupa. The prolific musicians have produced an astounding volume of work, including over eighty songs and multiple albums in less than two years. Gary’s sound is an eclectic rock & roll stew inspired by iconic musicians from the 60s to today.
“Puppet of Lies” is the latest single from Gary Dranow, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 2, 2024. The track opens on a high-octane and harmonized guitar riff, reminiscent of classic 80s Sunset Strip metal. The rest of the band enters the mix, laying down a heavy mid-tempo groove as the singer steps to the mic with a scathing takedown of dishonest leaders.
