Since dropping his debut single “Cold & Grey” in March of this year, the prolific Pot Barley has released over a dozen singles. His sound pairs timeless acoustic folk vibes with pop and rock influences from Taylor Swift to Frank Zappa. On his latest single, the multifaceted song man has teamed up with UK producer Ian Collins.
“Hole in the Sky” is the brand new single from Pot Barley, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 14, 2024. A melodically fingerpicked solo guitar opens the track. Soon the beat drops on quirky organic folk-pop groove featuring syncopated hand percussion and interwoven acoustic arpeggios. On the mic, the singer contrasts the deceptively upbeat music as he paints a sadder lyrical portrait of a girl who has forsaken her dreams. The tune ends on a fun, carnival-like polka vibe.
