MC Earth is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who debuted his new solo project in March with the single “Coming From the Rock”. That record introduced a veteran emcee and world-traveling ecologist with an old-school flow and a mission to protect the planet. The prolific rapper has already produced a sizable catalog, including two EPs and three singles in less than six months.
Born in Castro Valley, California and raised in Rockville, Maryland, MC Earth started freestyling in high school. After college, he tried his hand at the corporate world, but after four years in a cubicle the freebird needed to fly. He started with a life-changing backpacking trip across Southeast Asia, and continued with a nomadic journey across the USA. He eventually returned home to MD with volumes of lyrics and a purpose.
“Millennials” is the opening track and current single from MC Earth’s latest EP “This is a Gift”, available worldwide via all major streaming services. A lo-fi sample opens the track as the beat drops on a laid-back stoner boom-bap. On the mic, the rapper drops a verbose freestyle anthem for a generation, complete shout-outs to everyone from Teletubbies to Mobb Deep.
