Regular readers of The Static Dive know Rafael Montecruz well. We have followed his musical journey since December of last year upon the release of his English-language debut single “Tell Me Why“. That track introduced a multi-talented veteran independent songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist producer.
Over the years, Rafael Montecruz has produced a deep catalog of projects in Spanish. He launched his current solo project to reach a wider English-speaking audience, by translating, rearranging, mixing, and remastering some of his most popular songs. It worked. Less than a year since his debut, the prolific producer’s Spotify page has reached 20K monthly listeners with popular tracks like “Day“.
“Someday” is the brand new single from Rafael Montecruz, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 19, 2024. A solo piano introduces the track as a melancholy and intimate minor-key ballad. A cello paints the edges of the mix as guest vocalist Abraham Armell steps to the mic with a soulful lament, as he sings of his heartbroken longing for a lover who exists only in his dreams.
