Soft Yes is an emerging independent band who made their debut in 2022 with the appropriately titled EP Three Songs. That record introduced a New York City quartet with a modern indie vibe with hints of classic 90s alternative rock.
Soon after dropping that first record, the band went back to the studio to record their follow-up. They spent two days in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood, recording live in the studio with Travis Harrison of Serious Business Music. Then they let the record cook for a while, spending two years on mixing as they gigged around the city.
“Odd Numbers” is the second single from the new eponymous ten-song collection from Soft Yes, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 30, 2024. The track opens on a staccato guitar and bass riff as the beat lands on an uptempo indie groove with a mellow Dinosaur Jr vibe. On the mic, the singer offers a sleepy and esoteric slacker meditation.
