Jacob Harvey is an emerging Anmatyerre singer-songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. He first started making music as a teen, and in 2024 he’s making his international debut as both an independent recording artist and actor. When not in the studio, Jacob is a passionate mentor for Aboriginal youth, helping them navigate employment opportunities and inspiring them through his own story.
“Streetlights (from the Under Streetlights movie soundtrack)” is the brand new single from Jacob Harvey, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 29, 2024. The track was the inspiration for the new Danielle Loy-directed film Under Streetlights. Jacob stars in the film as Izak, a character whose life story parallels that of the actor.
The song opens on an ambient and cinematic indie rock intro. Soon the beat drops on a mid-tempo reggaetón-infused trap groove. Jacob Harvey steps to the mic to deliver his soulful autobiographical tale. It is a story both inspirational and heartbreaking, as he recalls the childhood memory of seeking the safety of streetlights with his family.
