Oculo is a collaborative music project based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group is the brainchild of an otherwise anonymous recording artist and producer who moved from his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana to pursue his musical dreams in the Big Easy. He debuted the project in 2019 with the album Debriefing.
Since debuting, Oculo has released a string of singles and albums. In 2020 they launched a three-album series, beginning with the celestial Gravity Check. The fifteen-track Input OS followed in 2023. The final entry in the set will land in 2025, featuring hip-hop infused pop songs focused on spiritual development.
“ashes to ashes” is the first single from the brand new forthcoming album from Oculo, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 18, 2024. Hypnotic percussive synth and string arpeggios introduce the track as a narrator offers philosophical guidance. Soon the beat drops on a chilled trap groove as guest vocalist DillanPonders steps to the mic with a soulful melodic rap about the impermanence of physical life and the persistence of our infinite souls.
