Christine Storm is a singer, songwriter, and veteran stage performer based in Nevada. Already a successful live act in the red-hot Reno scene, working with longtime musical partner Jerry Spikula, she launched a successful solo career as a recording artist in 2013. Before and since, the pair have penned hundreds of songs and performed together around the world.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Christine Storm began writing poetry at a young age and then majored in theater at the University of Idaho. However, after college she put her creative energies into music. She and Spikula formed the band Mansion and their rock cabaret vibe soon became a big draw in Reno and around the world.
7 is the brand new album from Christine Storm, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 29, 2024. The LP follows the July release of Christine’s standalone single “Ears to Hear”, her first new music in five years. The new seven-song set is a showcase for the singer’s genre-bending pop-rock style.
From “I Hear You”, a funk-infused alt-pop conversation with God, to the esoteric experimental dark wave of tracks like “The My Place” and “Poet”, Jerry sets the scene for Christine’s emotion-driven performances. The record takes an acoustic turn for the light reggae vibes of “Present”, and again for the jazzy love song “You Love Me” and the melancholy lament “Blessed”. Elsewhere, Storm leans retro with grunge guitars and an alt-pop aesthetic on tracks like the Kate Bush-style indie heartbreaker “Fallen”.

8 Questions with Christine Storm
Where are you from?
Christine Storm: I grew up in Oregon, Idaho and Nevada mainly and I now reside in Texas but because I have toured I’ve lived in a lot of places in the US and abroad.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been writing poetry and music since I was a kid. I really feel like I just started channeling it in my 20’s though. Early in my career I started getting a lot of traction as a featured performer in Reno, NV with my band.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
I’ve had the privilege of writing with some really good musician producers Like Eric Berdon, Frank Greenfield and Sam Christianson. My go to partner has always been Jerry Spikula though. We have about 100 produced songs in our library and it’s always a unique writing session with unique results.
We’ve written Gospel, Country, Rock, R&B, Pop and Blues.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences have been Kate Bush, Alice Cooper and Foreigner but my writing is also influenced by what I witness around me.
What is your greatest non-musical influence?
I don’t always write about myself. “Pain” was written right after I witnessed a really bad break up at the table next to me and my husband at a nice restaurant.
What inspired you to create this project?
God! I’m blessed to get big blocks of songs handed to me at a time! I don’t force my writing. It comes out of the blue about the oddest subjects at the oddest times. I wrote “Present” on my way to the grocery store and in the parking lot. Before it came to me I’m sure I was thinking “what should I make for dinner”?
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
I’d like to tour! I’m loving how mainstream and cool spiritual music is now and since I write a lot of upbeat good groove music with Jerry, I’d love to have a lot of people dancing and singing along while thinking about God and the human condition!
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Christine Storm: My passion is making my own music. I toured Greece as a Cher impersonator. I was featured on billboards and booked at main events. It was fun, but it’s not really me (literally) 🙂
